REPORT: Family of Dead Chilean Gay Man Hold Benefit, Mother Faints

The family of the gay Chilean young man Daniel Zamudio held a benefit concert/memorial in memory of Zamudio who was beaten senseless by a group of Neo-Nazis over his sexual orientation. The benefit helped raised much needed funds for his burial and medical expenses, and it was an opportunity to address LGBT violence and homophobia.

But during the benefit it appears that Zamudio's mother was so overwhelmed that she fainted and collapsed on the stage.

Daniel Zamudio was laid to rest last week, and his unfortunate murder encouraged the Chilean government to pass anti-discrimination legislation.
